When my husband insisted on taking the sister who had a baby under the age of one to the meetings the sister WOULD NOT PUT THE CHILD in a car seat PERIOD!!!

I still wonder why not? I mean what mom in her right mind would endanger her child like that. It was just totally crazy.

I wonder if she was hoping that we would get into an accident so she could sue us for allowing her to be so stupid. The first couple of times we took her she did have a car seat but then it disappeared and I never got a straight answer as to where it went. I offered to buy a car seat for her since she said she had no money was on welfare had been all of her life with all of her kids she had and all of them had different fathers. She got every hand out she could from the government and had always been around the truth looking for handouts from anyone who she could guilt into giving her one.

When I offered the car seat she got all upset at me telling me her child did not like and would not ride in one.

My husband and I fought and fought over it. One time on the way to picking her up a car blew through a stop sign and almost T-boned us. I was yelling at my husband that if she had been in the car even though we had not been hit the child would have went flying because my husband had to break so fast. Nothing I said made any impact on my husband. My husband was an elder and he was assigned to pick her up by the body of elders thus my husband felt it was his duty period and she being at the meetings was the most important thing in the world. My mental heath and stress as his wife did not mean as much to him as it did that this sister was at the meetings.

I told my husband that our car insurance would not cover a accident even if we were not at fault because we were breaking the law. My husband said no she was and she was the mother and so what were we supposed to do. I SAID TO NOT PICK HER UP AND LET HER RIDE WITH US!!!!!

It all fell on deaf years so I called the insurance company handed the phone to my husband and they told him they were going to drop us unless he stopped letting her ride with us.

He stopped taking her after that. but it really affected out marriage as I was just a dumb wife who worked her butt off to pioneer and I knew nothing over a welfare entitlement low life in the hall.

no doubt everyone has been following the juan viejo postings regarding the watchtower kingdom hall "grab" on jwn for the last couple of years.

called the mrs and me to say "wow- you have to google this" we did...came here to jwn ...became members..and the rest is history.. in the last nine months i have been calling and emailing contacts in the silicon valley for verification on the societies theft and forced sale of the menlo park kingdom hall (near the new facebook heaquarters) because the story seemed...a little far fetched.

every reliable contact i made has confirmed what juan reported.

I know I was like what? When I heard that also. Also when I told the police that the pedophile was holding and taking care of an child during the meetings again I was told that it was the elders who are responsible.

What was explained to me by the police was that the pedophile had done his time in prison he had paid for his crime. This one pedophile was on Meghan's list for everyone to see. So it was up to the elders to make sure he did not hold kids. The example given me was like a child care for children. A pedophile could apply for a job at a child care. It is not against the law, for a child molester to apply for a job, what is against the law is for the day child care to hire the pedophile. It is the duty of the day child care to do back ground checks on all the people they hire and who work there. If the child care dose not do back ground checks then they are libel.

Plus one of the really bad pedophiles in my hall was not on Meghan's list as he had raped kids in the 70's and was sent to prison but came out of prison in the early 90's before Meghan's list came into effect. So the elders said they did not have to worry about him as he raped kids so long ago and he was not on Meghan's list. I got his PUBLIC court and police records and the court records called him an an incurable sexual psychopath highly likely to reoffend. None of the elders would take his PUBLIC police and court records that I had retrieved and that I had made copies for all the elders.

One elder put his hands up in the air when I tired to give him the records and backed away from me like I was holding a gun on him. I asked why will you not just read what this pedophile did to his own daughter, that he raped his own daughter when she was five, but the elder just kept saying NO, NO, NO I will not look at them. I was totally blown away. Why not??? They were public records after all. This pedophile even held a baby shower in the hall for anther couple with his then third wife all with the elders blessings. This guy raped at least two children five to seven year olds in the 70's one of them being his own daughter. He learned the "truth" in prison and became a JW. As soon as he got out he married a JW with you guessed it a seven year old, divorced this women and married another JW you guessed it with another seven year old girl and they had a little girl together. All of this was done with the total blessings of the elders. Now he is divorced yet again and probably on the out look for JW wife number 4. This time the JW women will probably have grand-kids. The elders just love this guy and will do anything to stand up for him and to help him. I just do not get it.

today is my first anniversary as a jwn member.

it's hard to believe that only a year has passed since i joined, but i feel that's a testament to how much i have been welcomed and made to feel like part of the furniture.. i would very much like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on the forum for the immense help and assistance i have received, particularly in my first few weeks/months of posting.

it truly was a lifeline at a very distressing time for me.
